I call in, they set up an installation date, and I make a down payment for said installation. Cable is what my new house has, so that's the kind of internet service I need. Sparklight's actual internet services are fine. Speeds are as advertised, pricing is par with 2 other internet companies I’ve been with in regards to speeds and data. This company gets a bad rep in my opinion because of people’s lack of knowledge for the most part. He’s friendly, professional, stays in contact with me, and genuinely seems to care. Pat is a great person who deserves a raise and a promotion.
#SPARKLIGHT INTERNET SPEED TEST PROFESSIONAL#
Other than him going on vacation and lacking communication (I didn’t know he had went on vacation) during his time off, he has been professional the whole way through. Tim in my area most recently is nothing but professional. That itself took a few months to do but nonetheless they got it done for me and my neighbor. Sparklight went out of their way to hook up my internet service to a newly built house 100 ft from the road during the beginning of this Covid Crisis. The lack of communication afterwards in helping me is where I had any issue with this company. Every single customer service rep I’ve dealt with for the past 2 months have been extremely friendly. Also, my internet issues are only noticeable because I’m a gamer, otherwise, nobody throughout the neighborhood could really notice “packet loss” through normal web browsing and streaming. Almost understandably, judging from many of the comments I’ve read on other reviews, I can see why it took longer-than-normal for me to reach the appropriate people to deal with to help me with my internet issues. Sparklight gets 4 stars from me instead of 5 ONLY because of the headache to get the appropriate customer service I had been needing. I truly wish I could use another company but I live in a small town with no other providers currently. Mind you I’ve been paying for their best internet and it’s $140 a month and I’m running 60-80 ping with packet loss on a good day with my internet randomly just going off every other day. they just knock at random times and if I miss them I’m screwed for another couple weeks. I think for a customer to experience this many issues and for nothing to get fixed I feel like they don’t care to resolve or help customers and me having to wait that long for them to come me. So I called them and spoke with a lady who said they knocked 3 times and told me the guy doesn’t even have to call me before he comes. so I called again to reschedule and again I had to wait another week and a half, the day comes and I wake up at 10:30 am with my appointment for some reason canceled. The day comes and they called me once and i never heard a knock. Then I called again they said I had a wire issue but it would be two weeks until they could get someone to fix it. So I called again and they said they had to run an antivirus. After awhile I called again because I still had laggy internet. Which slightly helped only for a short time but wasn’t perfect but we had internet.

#SPARKLIGHT INTERNET SPEED TEST INSTALL#
First they didn’t install the correct router. I’ve had a pretty bad experience with this provider. Now they're claiming that we use over 700GB of data in TWO WEEKS and have been steadily charging us $10/day for 100GB of data, even when our router has been turned off since the night before and we are JUST getting back on the network! Our meters say we haven't even reached 200GB of data, but Sparklight has now charged us for over 1k GB of data! I've never seen a cable company just outright scam customers like this! No wonder they changed their name!īad all round don’t give your money to a company like this.

Somehow they think we can use up hundreds of gigabytes of data without the router even being turned on! We first started getting notices that we were over on data, so we upgraded. But that's not the big problem with them. You absolutely will have to buy your own and bridge theirs out to get decent service. They use severely outdated routers that are not in the least bit secure since the company that made them no longer issues updates (they're THAT old!). The only way our experience with Sparklight could be any worse is if there were intermittent connectivity issues involved. Fake data overage charges, just like comcast got in trouble over doing
